Antroposophical Artistic Therapy
Artistic Therapy is based in an artistic, medical and therapeutic vision, enhanced by Anthroposophy, spiritual science
founded by Rudolf Steiner, who sees the human being as a spiritual being, consisting of a physical body, a vital
body and soul body through which it expresses his emotions, feelings and thoughts.
Artistic Therapy is instrumented with color, shape, the volumes, spacial disposition, light and shadow. Finally, all
elements of the various arts that are experienced through painting, modeling and design. The therapeutic focus is
on the artistic process itself, where the archetypal forces of these elements come into line with the internal
forces that constitute the human being and can be blocked or disharmonious.
Beauty, rhythm, harmony and enthusiasm in observing the nature, qualities that also are present in the artistic
therapeutic process.
The patient in the artistic therapy is indeed an agent of its own transformation, seeking in a continuous process,
the expression of his balance.
Whether bringing the form which is loosely, dissolving where there is stiffness, bringing precision where
everything is vague, or allowing the fantasy captivated the mind that is hardened.
In view of artistic practice, limits are facing and obstacles are overcome in finding creative solutions. The
difficulties are accepted and overcomed, developing self-esteem and confidence. The thoughts, actions and feelings
become more aware.
What distinguishes the Artistic Therapy of an artistic process only is the therapeutic path, that intends to
transform every difficulty in exercises that allow the processes of change, always with a purpose, a method and
an inner attitude.
Artistic Therapy can be applied to all cases of disease, disharmony or as a process of self-knowledge and
development.
