Tara´s Mandala
Tara is a deity in Tibetan Buddhism, and a potential living inside each one. It represents the embodiment of
wisdom and compassion. She is the great Mother Goddess, ready to assist those who call upon, helping to overcome
obstacles and dissolve ignorance. Praising and incorporating Tara, we discover our own perfection.
In the experience, twenty-one participants, representing aspects of Tara, are conducted in a mandala of dance and
instructed, with the sound of mantras, mudras and sacred movements. The learning process is done through the
experience, and the practitioners are inspired to seek their own higher potential.
In the spirit of community celebration, women and men are welcome to participate as musicians or dancers.
In the Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism, there are several methods that help the mind in realizing its true nature.
The practice of the Dances of Tara´s Mandala is based on this set of teachings. Tara herself is considered a
Buddha, awakened to their own potential. It is said that she vowed to help all beings to free themselves from
illusions.
This practice allows the living contact with all the methods of Buddhist practice. There is act of
taking refuge, the development of the heart of compassion, purification and affirmation of their own enlightened
qualities. We learned the power of mantras, the vibrational energy that generates a positive effect on the
world when it is combined with a focused and dedicated mind. We experience the interrelatedness of all
beings and the release of conceptual thinking, in a state of mind alert and aware. We commit ourselves to express
our enlightened potential, to help all other beings to express them.
May all beings be happy!
May all beings be free!
To all of them, gratitude!
